چکیده
Coulomb friction model with unilateral contact is a basic, but reliable, to represent the resistance sliding between solid bodies. It nowadays well-known that this can be formulated as second–order cone complementarity problem, or equivalently, variational inequality. In article, enriched take into account rolling, also known rolling friction. Introducing cone, an extended Coulomb's and its dual, formulation of problem shown equivalent standard resistance. Based on formulation, maximum dissipation principle bi-potential function are derived. Several iterative numerical methods based projected fixed point iterations for inequalities block-splitting techniques given. The efficiency these strongly relies computation projection onto cone. original closed-form formula abilities illustrated examples single sphere plane, evolution spheres piles under gravity.

A complementarity-based rolling friction model for rigid contacts
In this work1 we introduce a complementaritybased rolling friction model to characterize dissipative phenomena at the interface between moving parts. Since the formulation is based on differential inclusions, the model fits well in the context of nonsmooth dynamics, and it does not require short integration timesteps. The method encompasses a rolling resistance limit for static cases, similar t...
متن کاملA Uniqueness Criterion for the Signorini Problem with Coulomb Friction
The purpose of this paper is to study the solutions to the Signorini problem with Coulomb friction (the so-called Coulomb problem). Some optimal a priori estimates are given and a uniqueness criterion is exhibited. Recently, nonuniqueness examples have been presented in the continuous framework. It is proven, here, that if a solutions satisfies a certain hypothesis on the tangential displacemen...
متن کاملA full Nesterov-Todd step infeasible interior-point algorithm for symmetric cone linear complementarity problem
A full Nesterov-Todd (NT) step infeasible interior-point algorithm is proposed for solving monotone linear complementarity problems over symmetric cones by using Euclidean Jordan algebra. Two types of full NT-steps are used, feasibility steps and centering steps. The algorithm starts from strictly feasible iterates of a perturbed problem, and, using the central path and feasi...
متن کاملPosing Multibody Dynamics with Friction and Contact as a Differential Complementarity Problem
We use a complementarity approach to pose the Coulomb friction model, combine it with a non-penetration condition, and append to a differential algebraic problem to characterize the dynamics of multibody systems with friction and contact. The resulting problem is relaxed to a Cone Complementarity Problem, whose solution is shown to represent the first order optimality condition of a quadratic p...
متن کاملThe second-order cone eigenvalue complementarity problem
The Eigenvalue Complementarity Problem (EiCP) differs from the traditional eigenvalue problem in that the primal and dual variables belong to a closed and convex cone K and its dual, respectively, and satisfy a complementarity condition. In this paper we investigate the solution of the SecondOrder Cone EiCP (SOCEiCP) where K is the Lorentz cone. We first show that the SOCEiCP reduces to a speci...
